{"id":1998,"date":"2022-04-28T09:00:07","date_gmt":"2022-04-28T16:00:07","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/ecampus.oregonstate.edu\/news\/?p=1998"},"modified":"2025-12-02T13:51:11","modified_gmt":"2025-12-02T21:51:11","slug":"amazon-career-choice-collaboration","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/educationalventures.oregonstate.edu\/news\/amazon-career-choice-collaboration\/","title":{"rendered":"Amazon teams with Oregon State to offer statewide employees tuition benefit to learn on campus, online"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>CORVALLIS, Ore. \u2014 Oregon State University today announced a collaboration that assists Amazon hourly employees in Oregon in pursuing a college degree by enrolling in OSU courses on campus and online.<\/p>\n<p>Amazon workers in Oregon will benefit from tuition assistance to pursue more than 200 Oregon State programs on the Corvallis campus or at OSU-Cascades in Bend, as well as 90-plus programs through OSU Ecampus, the university\u2019s nationally ranked online education division.<\/p>\n<p>This is the latest in a series of collaborations Ecampus has formed with organizations and employer networks to provide educational solutions for working adults. The program collaborates with institutions like Oregon State that support working adults academically, assisting them with job placements and providing educational pathways that lead to career success.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe\u2019re looking forward to Oregon State coming on board as an education partner, adding to the hundreds of best-in-class offerings available to our employees,\u201d said Tammy Thieman, global program lead of Amazon\u2019s Career Choice program. \u201cWe\u2019re committed to empowering our employees by providing them access to the education and training they need to grow their careers, whether that\u2019s with us or elsewhere.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cToday, more than 50,000\u00a0Amazon\u00a0employees around the world have already participated in Career Choice, and we\u2019ve seen firsthand how it can transform their lives.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Amazon operates fulfillment centers in Hillsboro, Portland, Salem and Troutdale, with additional warehouses expected to open next year in Canby and Woodburn.
